Several reasons! First of all, WorkForce Cleaning is licensed, bonded and insured. Your home is completely covered if something should happen when we are cleaning. Secondly, we conduct federal, state & local background checks on all of our employees, in addition to a verification of identity and credit check. Independent cleaning people could be working illegally in the U.S. and not paying the proper taxes. Thirdly, when you hire an independent cleaning person, there are some important tax requirements to be aware of. According to IRS Publication 926, if you hire someone to do household work and if you control not only what work is done, but how it is done, you are considered to have a household employee – and thereby subject to employer withheld taxes.
You can be home if you like; however, most of the time our customers are not home during the clean. If you live in a high-rise with a doorman, please leave Permission to Enter for WorkForce Cleaning the day of your cleaning. Often, you can leave "standing" permission if you sign up for regular service if you do not want to have to continually fill out this form. If you do not have a doorman, you can give us a key that will be secured in our office and only released to the housekeepers the day of the scheduled maid service.
There is a $25.00 lockout fee if we are unable to enter your home during a scheduled appointment. In addition, all house alarms must be turned off
Our cleaning schedule is Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. While in most cases it is difficult to give a specific time to be at your home, we will make every effort to meet your needs.
Most of our housekeepers work in teams of two. Teams usually will clean your home within 1.5 -3 hours (3-6 man hours total). If you have an single housekeeper cleaning your home, please budget 3-6 hours as well, depending on the size of the home and scope of work.
In order to provide you the highest level of service, we ask our customers to straighten up or pick up your personal belongings, toys or other household items. The fewer items that the housekeepers have to pick up, the more time we have to actually clean.
We use our own supplies and equipment. However, if you prefer that we use a certain product, we ask that you leave it on your kitchen counter with detailed instructions. We would be pleased to try to accommodate your request.
Our staff will not clean human or pet feces, vomit, urine or blood, according to OSHA guidelines. There are special cleaning services that are specifically trained to clean up human waste.
Yes…but we prefer that you call or email those notes to our office staff at (312) 923-9066 or service@workforcecleaning.com. We can only ensure that the work is completed if our office staff knows your requests.
We will clean with your pets at home if they do not bark or bite. However, if our staff feel intimated when entering your home, we will call you to reschedule when you can be home.
Yes. We call this "block cleaning." If you would like to schedule one to three housekeepers for a block of time (minimum of 4 man hours), we will send them to your home for that designated amount of time. You can create your own list of cleaning requests, and we will complete as much as we can in that period of time. The hourly charge per housekeeper is $25.00.
Please make sure that your water and electricity are still on during the day of the cleaning. In addition, the home must be completely vacant. Anything left behind will be considered trash and removed from the property (excluding large items such as furniture). If your utilities are shut off on the day of the clean, or you are still in the process of moving when our housekeepers arrive, you will be charged a $75.00 inconvenience fee in addition to the clean.
Our WorkForce office staff will contact you to reschedule if your maid service falls on a major holiday. We are typically closed on New Years Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day. We will notify you about a month before if we take off the day after Thanksgiving or Christmas Eve.
Please just call our office prior to 8:30 a.m. of the day your are scheduled for cleaning. As long as we receive notice before we head to your home, you will not be charged a $50.00 non-cancellation fee.
No, but we do encourage our customers to request weekly, bi-weekly or monthly maid service to get our discounted rates. This also helps ensure you get the same housekeeping staff during each clean. If you decide to discontinue your service, please just email or call us anytime.
We accept Visa, Mastercard or American Express. You can pay by cash or check, but a current credit card must be on file in case you forget payment. In addition, payment is due upon work completion.
